😁 Happy Friday! We’re halfway through the dog days of summer— which means your energy level is somewhere between “melting popsicle” and “grumpy sunburned toddler.” The heat is relentless, your AC is working overtime, and let’s be honest… productivity peaked back in June. But hey, if the dogs can nap through it, so can we. Hang in there— we’re sweating toward the finish line.

T-MobileTMUS $247.50 (5.80%) shares jumped over 6% Thursday as Wall Street digested the wireless giant’s better-than-expected Q2 earnings results after-the-bell Wednesday, and a fresh upgrade to its full-year forecast.
Diluted earnings per share came in at $2.84, topping the $2.68 analysts expected, while revenue edged past estimates at $21.1 billion. T-Mobile also raised its full-year guidance, now expecting 6.1 million to 6.4 million postpaid net customer additions (up from 5.5 million to 6 million), and lifted the midpoint of its core adjusted EBITDA outlook to $33.5 billion.
The largest US wireless carrier by market cap added 1.7 million postpaid subscribers in Q2, topping the Street’s estimate of 1.3 million, easily outpacing rivals AT&T and Verizon. The company has credited its growth to new pricing initiatives and a renewed push on value, including a five-year price lock on select plans.
T-Mobile shares are now up nearly 13% year-to-date. see stock

💰 Kimmes Wall Lake Country Store one of 24 projects awarded another grant through Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) Renewable Fuel Infrastructure Program (RFIP) to expand biofuel infrastructure. The over $1.12 million in cost-share grants is in addition to the previously 90 grants awarded in June to continue promoting retail E15 sites. Kimmes Wall Lake County Store has been granted $50,000 for supporting a retail biodiesel site. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig says “Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program cost-share grants help Iowa families save money at the pump by expanding access to lower-cost, cleaner-burning biofuels like E15 and biodiesel. Biofuels provide consumers with more fuel choices, all while supporting Iowa farmers and jobs in rural communities. As the nation’s leader in both ethanol and biodiesel production, Iowa is uniquely positioned to use more of the fuel we produce right here at home. These investments strengthen our economy and keep us moving forward with more affordable, homegrown energy.” Since 2006, IDALS has invested more than $63 million towards renewable fuel projects in Iowa. The investments are assisting fuel stations become compliant with the E15 Access Standard that was passed in 2022, requiring most fuel retailers to offer E15 by Jan. 1, 2026. José Mendiola Des Moines Register

Key Points
Dennis Strable was shot and killed while riding his bike in Des Moines nine years ago.
His brother, George, and friend Wayne Rodgers remember him for his kindness and generosity.
Despite police believing Strable was targeted, the case remains unsolved.
George Strable’s phone won’t stop ringing as he talks about his younger brother — his baby brother, as he remembers him — who was shot and killed while riding a bike to his friend’s house in Des Moines nine years ago.
Questions to his brother’s death have not been answered. Days keep passing. The questions keep growing. The pain hasn’t dulled.
Dennis Dean Strable, 59, a Des Moines native, was riding to visit his friend’s house on an idle Sunday morning when he was shot to death near the intersection of 45th Street and Kingman Boulevard on July 24, 2016.
Even as time goes by, George Strable remembers his brother for his kindness and his ability to enjoy life.
“He was the type of individual who would help anybody out,” Strable said. “If he saw someone being taken advantage of, he’d step in and try to straighten it out the best he could. He loved life. He enjoyed whatever he was doing. And he was always there for me when I needed help.”
More than anything, George Strable says he misses his brother.
“It’s just him,” Strable said. “That’s what I miss the most.” full story
